Jessica grew up in Michigan as the oldest child in a family of five, which grew to be a family of seven through adoption. Her father is a pastor and her mother is a teacher’s aide. Growing up family and faith were the focus. From the time she was little she always wanted to be a teacher. God is even now growing that passion.

Jessica graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in school administration. She taught in Illinois for six years before moving to the Dominican Republic. During that time she was able to teach first, fourth and sixth grade students. She has a passion for building curriculum and creatively teaching to meet student needs.

Jessica is excited to be a part of what God is doing through San Francisco Christian School. She eagerly anticipates working with the students and community. Each child is full of potential and with God’s help we will begin to unlock it through education.

San Francisco Christian School is a Christian school that is located on the property of the church that had a vision for this school in the first place. The school currently has 12 students this year and hopes to have class sizes of 10-15 next year. Right now, it only has Preschool and Kindergarten, but it will be adding a grade level every year until they are a PreK-8 building. Right now, they only have the first floor of the building completed and will need the second floor built by the 2016-17 school year. Being the only monolingual English school in San Francisco de Macoris makes the school very unique. They are serving national children who are native Spanish speakers. The ability to speak English is a highly valued skill there. They would  like to have a partnership program in the U.S for student scholarships so that the school could eventually become self sustaining even if the student base cannot afford full tuition. They are currently collecting tuition based on what families can afford.
